By the next Monday I'd sold my entire first run (20 books) and had started on my second. I have just ordered another run as I only have one copy left.
I've also been doing a lot of work on my website and to get my book onto Kalahari. They eventually got back to me (a week after I sent an email saying my account had not yet been verified). I also had difficulty loading the book onto their system as they want you to search for your product and then click 'sell my product here.' But they do not indicate how you load a new product onto the system. I now know you have to send them a special email for that, which I've done. But it's still not 'live' as it is supposed to appear on my seller profile but isn't there as I can't see any place for entering the information. The saga continues.
I've been going through a 25 page guide on how to convert a file into an ebook format. I've made some slow progress, so don't hold your breath.
South Africans do not seem to like the PayPal system. I must say I was also surprised that they wanted my credit card details when I was registering with them as a seller (not a buyer). I sent emails to people who had shown an interest in the book, giving them my bank details and sold five books on the hop. So an EFT seems to work much better and I now have an order form on my site which allows you to send me your postal address and communicate directly with me.
Wearing these other two hats is taking a lot of my time. Meanwhile my characters in my second novel have been left in the lurch. They are just about to fall in love and go for a romantic swim in a French forest. They await my attention .....
